With the invention of the tubeless tire, maintenance and repair have become easier and faster. Small holes from debris on the roads (nails, screws etc.) can usually be repaired in no time, without the need to change the whole tire. At American Tire Centers we follow the Rubber Manufacturers Association guidelines for flat repairs strictly and accurately. Our step by step repair procedure will insure the safety of the tire and give you continued, normal use of the tire throughout its tread life expectancy.
Our flat repair process includes the following:
- Dismount tire from the rim.
- Inspect tire inside and out to assess damage.
- If repairable, utilize a plug/patch combination applied from the inside of the tire.
- Or use an exterior plug (see picture)
- Mount tire back onto the rim.
- Test tire repair for leakage.
- Rebalance tire and install on vehicle.
